We a team of 04 visited Sherpur District of Bangladesh looking for the Critically Endangered Yellow-breasted Bunting and Few Forestbirds in January 2023.

Our Reserved Car arrived at the Spot at Early Dawn, our Local Guide joined us and brought us to the area where the Buntings are hanging out. We spotted Several Chestnut-eared Buntings, at least 03 Yellow-breasted Buntings & few Little Buntings. Other highlights were Eastern Water Rails, Ruddy Breasted Crakes, Rosy Pipits, Pied Harrier, Pallas’s Grasshopper Warbler etc.

We moved on to another Location in Garo Hills where few interesting passerines were found earlier. We explored the area for the rest of the day but our Target Slaty-backed Flycatcher was not seen. Later we heard and seen few Species of Laughingthrushes, one Scaly Thrush, few Grey-bellied Tesia, Lesser Shortwing & Small Niltava there at Evening. Light was rather low and it was so cold & foggy.

After all we had scrumptious dinner & headed back home. Guests were happy with several Lifers each. The Critically Endangered Yellow-breasted Buntings were clearly the Highlight of the Day.
