Bangladesh has great wetlands located in the Northeast that support Hundreds of Thousands of Migratory Waterfowl every winter. Located right on the Foothill of Meghalaya, this Large Wetlands are rather scenic too. These locations are accessed only by Boat during much of the year specially during winter. Stays on 03 Star Hotels and on Comfortable Houseboats with Delicious Local Food & Birdwatching on foot & on small dingis that takes you right close to flocks of Ducks, Waterfowls, Storks & Many other species of Grassland Birds. Trip for 06 Days with a Group of Up to 05 Guests, with Full English speaking Birding Guide & Tour Leaders that will accompany you from Dhaka by Private Transport. This is a rather awesome experience that no one else offers in Bangladesh & you’ll surely cherish it for a Long Time. Best time is November to February. One Day at Baikka Beel Wetland Sanctuary: This Large Wetland & Fish Sanctuary supports a lot of species of Birds and birders can enjoy them on foot. Highlights in this Wetland are Baikal Teal, Pallas’s Fish Eagle, Black-headed Ibis, Black-browed Reed Warbler, Baibak Bush Warbler etc. 100 Species of Birds can be seen here easily in a day. All sorts of waterbirds are found here. Nightstay at Hotel.
One/Two Days at Hakaluki Haor: Another Day will be spent at Hakaluki Haor, another famous Large Wetland that supports large population of waterfowls and waterbirds. Highlights are: Baer’s Pochard, Falcated Duck, Fulvous Whistling Duck, Black-necked Stork, Common Crane etc. Birdwatching here is on foot, often barefoot through muddy terrain where cars can not go. If time allows, we’ll visit Dalair Haor in Sylhet aswell. Another good location for Baer’s Pochard, Falcated Duck, Common Crane, Buntings, Reed Warblers, Lapwings etc.
03 Days at Tangua Haor: Guests will be moved to Tangua Haor in Sunamganj where they’ll check in Wooden Houseboat for 02 Nights & 03 days. Birding here is onboard wooden canoes that can take guests quite close to massive duck flocks. This Large Wetland is located right on the foothill of Meghalaya India so the Photos has amazing backgrounds. This Location has several smaller wetlands worth exploring and supports a large variety of dabbling and diving ducks notably the Baer’s Pochard, Baikal Teal, Indian Spot-billed Duck, Pallas’s Fish Eagle, Black-faced Bunting, Brown-cheeked Rail, Lapwings, many species of Reed Warblers & Bush Warblers, Ficedula flycatchers etc. Houseboat will drop guests on Land in the afternoon and guests will start 7 Hour return drive to dhaka for their next Endeavour.
